Dear Daughter: A Father’s Letter to the Little Girl in You

If I could imagine what my daddy, Bro. Percy, would say to each woman out there that didn't have a father or a male figure in their lives — especially those who never got to hear the words their heart needed to press on in life that might be difficult to navigate. I pray letter will minister deeply, affirm identity, and create a safe space for healing.

💌 Blog Post: Dear Daughter

Dear Daughter,

I see you.

Not just the woman you are today — accomplished, capable, strong — but the little girl inside you. The one who sometimes still feels unheard, overlooked, or unsure of her worth.

I see her, and I want to talk to her for a moment.

I want to say the words you may have needed then — and still need now. Because you were never meant to carry your pain alone. And even if your earthly father couldn’t speak these truths, I want you to hear them now from me… from a father’s heart.

You are deeply loved.

Not for what you do. Not for how you give of yourself tirelessly with no rewards.
Not for how you look. Not for how you care for other people.
Not for how well you please others. Not for how well you work.
But simply because you exist.
You are a daughter worth cherishing — and nothing can change that.

You are safe now.

I know life hasn’t always felt safe. Maybe people hurt you. Maybe love came with conditions.
But I need you to know — that was never your fault.
You deserve safety. You deserve peace. And you deserve to trust again — starting with yourself.

You are enough.

Not when you’re more perfect.
Not when you’ve worked harder.
Not when you’ve lost the weight, made money, or met others' expectations.

You are enough — right now. As you are.

You don’t have to carry it alone.

You’ve carried burdens too big for someone your size for far too long. You’ve been the strong one. The fixer. The survivor. But daughter, strength doesn’t mean silence.
You are allowed to fall apart and still be worthy of love.

I’m proud of you.

Even when you messed up.
Even when you weren’t sure you were lovable.
Even when you doubted God and yourself.

I am so proud of the woman you’ve become.
Your healing doesn’t diminish you — it honors your journey.

I may not have been the father who raised you.
But if you’ll allow me, I’d like to lend you my voice —
Just for a little while.
To say what you should have heard all along.

And if you’ll listen even deeper —
You’ll hear the Heavenly Father saying it too.

"You are my daughter, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."
(Matthew 3:17 NIV)

He never stopped loving you.
And He never stopped calling you back home.

✍️ From a Father’s heart to yours,

Bro. Percy

📖 Reflection Prompt:

Take a moment today to write a letter to the little girl inside you. Let her know she’s safe now. That you see her. That you're choosing healing — not hiding.

My father told me all of these things! I needed to share with you because the little girl inside of you needs to hear them. Feel the love of what a father would say to his daughter! Now in your life you can feel the love in your heart grow! You are powerful, you are mighty!
